Mum brought a ticket thinking that we were going to a wedding show and I was so busy that I also thought it was a wedding show. When I saw on NZ Weddings Facebook page that it was a floral arrangement workshop I couldn't help but have a giggle!

There was yummy Wine and canapés.

And then after some sips of some yummy wine, Sophie at Muck Floral and Store showed us how to make our own floral arrangement to take home.

Here is how me and Mum did:

Oh yea, you would probably have to make a few before it REALLY looked good, but still fun!

And below is mine my "get everything in" flower crown. It was really neat to learn about how to make flower crowns, actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Fashion Show + Flowers

There was Fashion at the NZ Wedding Magazines event as well.

It was okay, not what me and Mum expected, there was no such "runway" but the girls just tried to walk their way through the tables without wrecking the dresses

A local designer Natalie Chan did the dresses while the florist gave different ways to have the flowers to be less traditional.

These flowers were HUGE but nice

This was an interesting concept, bridesmaid wrist corsage, something different and seemed like a nice idea.

The Fashion Show August 2015

New Zealand Wedding Magazine Collection included Barkers, Crane Brothers, Hera Bridal, John Zimmermann, Natalie Chan, Robyn Cliffe and Working Style. I think Hera was the best.

 

It was so cute, Hera had little sweet children walking down, which mean everyone go "ohhhhhhh".

The show was really nice, there was male as well, however my interest was with the female garments. No matter what its hard to picture yourself in the dress since the models are so tall and skinny, but it does give you a nice overview of the trends.

There was a look of bohemian style dresses, a lot of loose silks and amazing lace dresses. A lot of head pieces as well.

Below were the main dresses of the show I felt.

Above is the main ending piece, quite "Mary Madonna", to the right was a highlight due to the volume and when she spun it was very eye catching.

Above the "Older sister" with the two "Little sisters" was a moment on the floor and everyone had their cameras out, to the right was a beautiful flowing dress which was so seamless, however I would love to see it on a more "normal/everyday" shaped body.

This was a Christchurch designer, very pretty and would look even better it the length was all the way down.

Beauty Workshop August 2015

The Beauty Workshop for NZ Weddings was okay. To be honest I am surprised I have gone to yet another NZ Weddings Event when the first one was a bit meh. Maybe I thought this one would be a bit different but it was a little worse. 

Mum came with me. 

1) Is was a 5min walk from the Fashion Show event which was strange, you have to leave the main Event to go to this, At the Fashion show there was make up stands, maybe I could have saved some money if I stayed there instead of buying EXTRA tickets to go to this one

2) You walk into the event and you are not greeted or anything, there is no NZ Wedding Branding anywhere, its like you have just walked into this room with stuff in each corner. As we wallked around it was as if the staff in each corner cared more about themselves and where to place their handbags.

So we got a glass of champagne which always makes you feel a little better. Thankfully Mum knew a couple of the girls at the Bobbi Brown stand so we went there first and they did my eye shadow, REALLY NICELY done as well!

I recall some goodies from www.sweetbites.co.nz

A cocktail booth, Dermotologist and Joico. It just wasn't fun and they make us wait outside in the cold and rain until the exact time. 

I won't be going to another NZ Wedding Magazines Event for some time now. 

Over all the highlights are always the goody bags....
